He froze. That wasn't in the lesson.
He decided to test a page. He clicked on a "Magic Ink" revealer, which should have shown a photo of a volcano. Instead, a flickering green line of text appeared on the virtual board:

The download finished. He ran the installer. The old, familiar wizard popped up—a chunky 2010s interface with a picture of a smiling woman pointing at a board. It installed without a hitch. He typed in the key: STAY-OFF-THE-CLOUD-2020. It worked.
He found a forum. A graveyard. "ActivInspire Studio Download – Legacy Versions." The last post was from 2019. A user named Tech_Archivist_99 had left a cryptic link: ActivInspire_Studio_v2.5_Final_Perpetual.rar . The description simply said: "The last good one. Runs offline. No cloud. Just pure flipchart power. Use the key: STAY-OFF-THE-CLOUD-2020." He froze
Liam laughed nervously. "Spooky teacher stories." He checked the time: 12:47 AM.
Page 1 had a single, perfect text box:
Page 47 was blank. He had never used it. But now, pixel by pixel, a flipchart page was drawing itself. A diagram of a human heart. But the labels were wrong. Where "Aorta" should be, it said "LIAM'S DESK." Where "Ventricle" should be, it said "HALLWAY CLOSET."
He typed a new text box: "Who is this?"
