As Walter navigates his new life as a drug manufacturer, he adopts the alias "Heisenberg." His transformation from a timid, obedient man to a confident, ruthless drug kingpin begins. This change affects not only his relationships with his family but also his self-perception.

The story begins with Walter White, a struggling high school chemistry teacher living in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He's financially insecure, working multiple jobs to support his family, including his wife Skyler (Anna Gunn) and their teenage son Walter Jr. (RJ Mitte), who has cerebral palsy.

Walter turns to his former student Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul), a small-time meth user and dealer, to help him manufacture and sell methamphetamine. Their first product is a batch of blue meth, which quickly gains popularity on the streets for its purity and potency.

Introduction

The season culminates in a confrontation with Krazy-8 (Maximino Arciniega), a meth distributor who becomes suspicious of Walter and Jesse's operation. In a tense standoff, Walter is forced to make difficult choices that further entrench his new identity.
