I was cleaning out my old hard drive and found some photos from Codec conferences back in 2018-2019. For those who don't know, codec.kiev.ua was basically the hub for developers, sysadmins, and IT geeks in Kyiv.

Their front page looked like it was built in 1999 (and probably was), but their meetups were legendary. Free pizza, terrible coffee, and surprisingly high-level talks about PostgreSQL, Golang, and network architecture. codec.kiev.ua reddit

It was purely grassroots. No corporate sponsorship filters. You'd get senior engineers from Rozetka, MacPaw, or Grammarly giving raw, unfiltered talks. Their job board was surprisingly good for 2015-2019.

Looks like the domain is still up but the event calendar has been dead since 2022. Does anyone know if the community moved to a Telegram channel or Discord? The site UI looked like it hadn't been updated since 2005. No responsive design. The search function was broken for years.
