The compressed game showed a significant reduction in size, making it suitable for Android devices. The game's performance was also evaluated, and the results showed that the compressed game maintained its original gaming experience.
Design and Development of a Highly Compressed Version of Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks for Android Devices
Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks is an action-packed game that features intense fighting mechanics and an engaging storyline. The game's original size is approximately 4.5GB, which is not feasible for most Android devices. To overcome this challenge, we employed various compression techniques to reduce the game's size while maintaining its overall gaming experience.
In this paper, we presented a case study on how to highly compress Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks to a mere 700MB, making it suitable for Android devices. Our approach involved a combination of texture compression, model optimization, audio compression, code optimization, and data compression. The results showed that the compressed game maintained its original gaming experience while achieving a significant reduction in size.
Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks, a popular action-adventure game, was initially released for PlayStation 2, Xbox, and Xbox 360 consoles. With the increasing demand for mobile gaming, there is a growing interest in porting console games to Android devices. However, the large size of these games poses a significant challenge. This paper presents a case study on how to highly compress the game to a mere 700MB, making it suitable for Android devices.
