Neoprogrammer V2.2.0.10 Review
Aris turned to run. The door slammed shut on its own. On the screen, a new process began:

The room lights dimmed.
> SCANNING FOR ADDITIONAL BIOLOGICAL SCAFFOLDS…
Not breathing. Just the lips. Forming shapes. Words. No sound came out, but Aris could read them. Neoprogrammer V2.2.0.10
Aris paused. The corpse’s face was slack, peaceful. Volkov had always said he wanted to see the other side but bring a map back.
Volkov had volunteered. “If you fail,” he’d joked, his Russian accent thickening with the morphine, “I’ll be the first ghost with a USB port.” Then the cancer had finished its work three hours early. Aris turned to run
The corpse stood up. Fluid drained from its nose.
A crackle. Then Volkov’s voice, but wrong—too slow, like a tape reel struggling to turn. New administrator: VOLKOV, L
Aris leaned closer. The eyes were open. Dead-fish gray.
“What… happened… to my lungs?”
