LEO VANCE (40s, gaunt, brilliant eyes lost in a fog of Ativan and inertia) sits in a custom recliner. He hasn’t shaved in weeks. He wears a bathrobe that was once expensive.

Leo stares at the timer. Fifteen hours of oxygen left.
