Years later, a student in Mumbai named Arjun found the draft saved on a cracked laptop bought from a scrap dealer. The “94” wasn’t a page number but a reference to eutectic composition — 94% metal, 6% mystery. “Buena gracias electr” was Elena’s broken Spanish-Italian thanks to an anonymous uploader.

Rather than helping with that, here’s a short, fictional story inspired by the search itself : Years later, a student in Mumbai named Arjun

I notice you’re trying to find a free PDF of Physical Metallurgy by Vijendra Singh, specifically with what looks like Spanish keywords (“buena gracias electr”) mixed with a number “94.” This seems like an attempt to locate a pirated copy or a specific file version. Rather than helping with that, here’s a short,

An old metallurgist named Elena typed into a forgotten forum: “Physical Metallurgy by Vijendra Singh pdf free 94 buena gracias electr” — a relic of a search from 2014, left unfinished. She had died before hitting “post.” Under it, he wrote: “Buena gracias, electr

Arjun framed the scrap laptop’s motherboard. Under it, he wrote: “Buena gracias, electr.” If you need help understanding a legitimate concept from Physical Metallurgy (like phase diagrams, heat treatment, or crystal structures), I’d be glad to explain it — no piracy required.

He never found the PDF. Instead, he bought the book. On page 94, printed cleanly, was the same diagram. Elena had been searching not for a free file, but for permission to believe that knowledge could still surprise her.

Arjun tracked down Vijendra Singh’s original notes in a university archive. Page 94 was missing from every free copy online. It contained a single, hand-drawn diagram: a phase transformation no one had ever published — the key to a室温 superalloy.

Hi Caesar,

Thanks for interesting post. Sure credibility of backtest on simulated data depends on how precise your synthetic data is and how quickly your signal changes.

For 1-yr momentum there is one story, and you may use less precise data, and for 5-days reversion – completely different story, and you need much better data to test this.

BTW, six figs. investment have OHLC data on volatility ETPs: https://sixfigureinvesting.com/2014/09/simulating-open-high-low-vxx-vixy-tvix-uvxy-xiv-svxy/, maybe you could use this to trade not on closes of the same day (which may be not that realistic, given wild nature of the instruments involved)

I am aware of the OHL simulated data but the amount of error he decribes is too much for me. The main thing I want to make sure people are clear is that the data may or may not work for you depending on the strategy. Just be careful using this data.

hi cesar, would you consider adding a search functionality to your blog so we can easily look up past blogs or topics?

I can see when I am logged in as my WordPress admin but when I look at the site logged out I can’t see the search feature. I will have to look around and figure out how to get it back. Thanks for pointing this out.

hi cesar, did you build your own synthetic data to run your tests? i recently ran some tests using the data from six figures investing. although the results over the overlap period were qualitatively similar, good years were good and worse years were worse etc, quantitatively they were very different with variations of 40% or more at times. what do you think?

No, I used the data from Six Figure Investing. I found that it really depends on the strategy whether one can use this data or not.
