Does she zip the suitcase back up and leave? Or does she turn around, face the camera, and say the one thing she has been avoiding?
The image is drenched in the thick, honeyed light of the “golden hour,” but there is nothing sweet about it. The light slants through a dirty windowpane, catching dust motes that hang in the air like tiny, suspended worlds. Olivia sits on the edge of an unmade bed, her back to the lens, shoulders curved inward as if trying to fold herself into a smaller, less noticeable version of her being.
