Leo tried to close the laptop. The keyboard burned his fingers. Through the window reflection, he saw himself — but his character on screen was moving the same way he did. Every twitch. Every blink.
The install screen flickered, then went black. His fans whirred loud — too loud. Then, the game launched. But something was wrong. The menus were glitched, the soundtrack was reversed static, and his character — a pale, too-skinny version of the default skater — was already standing at the edge of "The Hangar."
Leo pressed the spacebar to ollie.
