Abstract In Mount & Blade: Warband , the “Weapon Master” (a character built around high Weapon Proficiency and the Weapon Master skill) prioritizes adaptability over specialization. This paper analyzes the mechanical benefits, optimal skill allocation, equipment choices, and tactical applications of a Weapon Master build in single-player and competitive multiplayer. It concludes that while not the most efficient for pure min-maxing, Weapon Master offers unmatched flexibility in dynamic battlefield conditions. 1. Introduction Most Warband builds favor specialization: archer, lancer, heavy infantry, or horse archer. The Weapon Master defies this by investing heavily in the Weapon Master skill, which raises the cap on weapon proficiencies (WP) and accelerates their gain. This allows a single character to switch between one-handed, two-handed, polearms, and ranged weapons with minimal penalty. 2. Mechanical Role of the Weapon Master Skill | Skill Level | Max Proficiencies | Effect | |-------------|------------------|--------| | 0 | 100 | Slow WP gain | | 5 | 250 | Moderate caps | | 10 | 500+ | Near-maximum attack speed/damage |
